ABOUT ME
People Often Ask...
- Why did you want to become an attorney?Oddly enough, I realized I wanted to be an attorney while studying and working to enter the medical field. When I was in college, I took a job as an emergency department technician and worked hands-on with patients going through just about any situation you can imagine would bring someone to the ED. At the same time, I was taking a bioethics class, and one of our guest speakers was a healthcare attorney. That attorney gave an overview of how the law impacts the social determinants of health (all the non-medical factors that influence someone’s health outcomes) and how attorneys can work to indirectly better health. I went to law school to learn more about that and get involved.
- What is your favorite part of being an attorney?I love when clients ask questions, no matter how simple or complicated. One of the aspects of the legal profession that drew me in was research. I love the process of thinking through a question and advising clients on the law’s impact, whether I know the answer immediately or need to pause, research, and get back to them.
What I Do For Fun...
